Velvet Saloon Skirt

Velvet Saloon Skirt. One of a Kind, Upcycled Couture.  Size Small. 

Drawstring waist is adjustable and fits 24 - 28" waist, and up to 36" hip. 

This skirt can easily be high waisted, low waisted, or sit at your natural waist with the adjustable waist tie.

This original and one of a kind beautiful skirt is made up with the base of a lightweight taffeta in a rich plum shade.  Strips of cut velvet in deep dark moody violet have been appliqued onto the skirt individually in a diagonal pattern.  The flounce at the hemline is a vintage rose printed silk chiffon with floral shaped appliques in dusty plum silk velvet.  The waistband is a soft silk velvet in dusty plum which coordinates with the velvet trim around the flounce.

My inspiration for this design is inspired by the Wild West in the 1800s.  The silhouette is elegant, but it has a bit of a tattered and tested feel to it by adding the irregular shaped pieces of velvet onto an existing skirt with flounce.  This Saloon Skirt pairs nicely with items in my velvet collection.

I was able to use the left over scraps of fabric from my other velvet items to make this original design.  My aim when creating my collections is to have as little waste as possible and to use what I have on hand to create Upcycled Couture pieces.

This skirt has a side seam zipper and adjustable elastic waist with drawstring ties.  It is ankle length.

Hand wash in cold water recommended, hang to dry. Iron on wrong side.
