Collection: Workshops Starting in January 2026
All skills levels accepted. Private or small group settings.
Depending on the garment type, usually these workshops run 1-3 sessions and are 2 hours long.
You will have the opportunity to select some of the beautiful natural fabrics and trims that are used from the Brigitte Hart Dress collections.
Pattern, fabric, and trim, will be selected and supplied at your first session. Tools will be provided for in-house use, if needed.
Other sessions include: proper fit of pattern and measurements, cutting and pattern placement, getting ready to sew, understanding the construction of the garment, sewing the base garment, adding special details, pressing the garment, and finishing the garment.
The patterns for these workshops are the property of Brigitte Hart Dress Atelier, and are not for sale, or for copy or re-production. They remain the property of Brigitte Hart Dress Atelier.
You will cut and sew the pattern with step by step instructions given by Brigitte. Learn new techniques, and industry secrets in patternmaking, fitting and sewing with various types of fabrics and trims.
Let's have fun while learning something new, or simply to enhance your pattern or sewing skills. As always, there will be time to socialize where light refreshments and snacks will be served.

Classes included:
NOVICE:
-Learn to Sew - 1 Session (threading a needle, basic stitches, sewing a button, snap, hook and eye)
-Embroidery Class - 1 Session (embroider your favorite word or symbol onto a cozy 100% organic tee) Knowledge of basic hand stitching skills recommended.
-Sewing Machine Basics - 1 Session (bring your machine and lets get you up-to speed on how it works so you can get sewing)
-Understanding How to Read Patterns and Measurements - 1 Session (Presenting you various patterns and what it all means. Basic fit adjustments you can make to alter your pattern. You can also bring your own pattern and let's discuss.)
-Help with Cutting Out Your Fabric - 1 Session (So you have some fabric you want to use? Not sure how to cut your pattern? Let's do this together so you can sew it up!)
BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE
-Cropped Camisole/Bralette - 2 Sessions (lets handstitch a super comfortable and healthy bralette out of linen or cotton. Bralette will be cut to your size and then sewn together with basic handstitches) (Bonus: applique or handstitch a design onto the garment)
-Drawstring Skirt - 3 Sessions (bring your machine, cut and sew a drawstring skirt) (Bonus: learn to make french seams)
-Slip Dress - 3 Sessions (bring your machine, let's cut and sew a basic slip dress with princess seams) (Bonus: install a zipper)
-Linen Blouse - 3 Sessions (Let's cut and sew a Button Down Long Sleeve Linen Blouse) (Bonus: making buttonholes by hand or machine)
