The torso is very fitted through the upper hip. At the princess seams starting at the upper hip in front and back seams an extra piece of fabric is inserted, which is called a Godet. This godet is pleated on the inside and increases in width as it flows to the hemline. The generous sweep measures over 26 feet of silk organza fabric. This silhouette is your classic princess style. The lining is also fitted with princess seams but does not have the extra godets so it sits closer to the body. Since the lining is more narrow, the sweep is 9 feet. This dress is beautiful as is and has beautiful drape and natural movement in the skirt. If you would like to enhance the fullness of the skirt, a petticoat slip worn underneath will hold the shape of the full hemline.
